Station identification is a fundamental requirement for all amateur radio operators. It ensures that all communications can be traced to their source, promoting accountability and reducing the risk of interference with other radio services.

Identification Requirements

• Start of Transmissions: Operators must identify their station at the beginning of each transmission or series of transmissions. This initial identification sets the stage for clear and accountable communication.
• During Continuous Transmissions: If a transmission lasts for an extended period, station identification must be repeated at least every 10 minutes. This ongoing identification helps maintain clarity and accountability throughout the communication session.
• Test Transmissions: Even during test transmissions, which may not involve regular communication, operators are required to identify their station. This ensures that all transmitted signals are accounted for, even when they are not part of a standard conversation.

Purpose of Station Identification
