Single Sideband (SSB): Single Sideband (SSB) is a refinement of Amplitude Modulation (AM) used to reduce the bandwidth and power requirements for transmitting signals. In standard AM, both the upper and lower sidebands, as well as the carrier, are transmitted, which doubles the bandwidth needed and increases power consumption. SSB, however, transmits only one of the sidebands (either upper or lower) and typically suppresses the carrier.
