Polarization:

• Polarization: This refers to the orientation of the electric field of the radio wave radiated by the antenna. Antennas can be vertically or horizontally polarized, depending on how they are mounted. For maximum signal strength and clarity, the polarization of the transmitting and receiving antennas should match.
  • Vertical Polarization: Commonly used for mobile and handheld radios.
  • Horizontal Polarization: Often used for fixed installations, such as TV antennas.

Radiation Patterns:

• Omni-directional: An omni-directional antenna radiates and receives signals equally in all horizontal directions. This type of antenna is ideal for situations where communication is required in multiple directions, such as mobile and base station applications.
